A fast-growing energy company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team with a primary focus on accounts payable management and project tracking and analysis. In addition to these key responsibilities, the selected candidate may also assist with month-end financial close activities and reporting preparation. Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable and Project Cost Tracking:
- Process invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify and reconcile invoices with purchase orders and receipts.
- Manage vendor relationships and respond to inquiries.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all transactions.
- Track and monitor project expenses against budgets.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation.
- Assist to prepare project cost reports and analysis for management review.
- Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
2. Month-End Work and Reporting Preparation:
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Participate in financial analysis and review meetings to provide insights into financial performance and trends.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures during the reporting process.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.
- Provide support for other finance-related tasks and special projects as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and experience requirement:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
- Detail-oriented and demonstrates a “can-do” positive attitude.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment, in office or remotely.
- Self-starter with solid organisational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and different stakeholders.
- Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent skills in MS Excel and Word. Advanced knowledge in Excel, incl understanding concepts of databases, use of mathematical, logical, statistical and financial functions desirable.
- Knowledge of Pronto ERP NetSuite ERP systems desirable.
- Tax experience in general corporate tax laws/preparation desirable.
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as an Accountant in a commercial finance environment or similar business service environment.
Qualification requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree with Accounting, Finance or Business majors required.
- CA/CPA certification or equivalent.
