On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Accountant Manager to join their team in a permanent, full-time capacity.
The Role:
The role of Accountant Manager is a critical one in the business and requires maturity and initiative along with the ability to demonstrate effective leadership both internally and towards Clients. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of their clients and includes, but is not limited to:
- Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail and property;
- Responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients, including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals;
- Assistance with the preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements;
- Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and Payroll tax returns.
- Participating in larger project-based work as required
The Candidate:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong academic track record along with maturity and initiative;
- Leadership capabilities with experience in managing both Clients and Team Members;
- Exceptional communication skills;
- A high focus on providing excellent client service;
- Excellent time management and attention to detail;
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others;
- A strong work ethic and initiative; and
- Commitment to further training and professional development;
Your background:
- 5-10 years' experience in an Accounting practice;
- Sound leadership capabilities;
- Degree qualified with CPA/CA status;
- Ability to identify how to maximise returns for clients and be able to understand deductibility of certain items;
- Previous exposure to accounting and tax software; strong skills in MYOB, Xero and Intuit QuickBooks preferred.
