About the role
We are currently seeking a Accountant to join Select Plant Australia in Brisbane or Sydney. This permanent role offers great career prospects with one of the largest specialist plant hire businesses in Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Updating and maintaining Fixed Asset Register, CAPEX forecast register, and Asset Finance Leasing register.
- Working closely with the Operations/Fleet/CAPEX team to ensure completeness and accuracy of data in the various register and forecasts which is being used to support the business plan
- Monthly reconciliation of Fixed Assets, CAPEX WIP and Finance Leases balance sheet accounts
- Monthly and ad hoc processing including posting general journals, accrual journals and charge runs
- Ad hoc financial data reconciliations
- Assist with audit of financial statements and project specific audits
About you
- 2 - 3 years in a finance role
- Background in the equipment rental, rail, or construction sectors preferable
- Degree qualified accountant either working towards or already CA or CPA qualified
- Understand the accounting concepts underpinning recognition of fixed assets, lease liabilities, and the applicable accounting standards (AASB/IFRS)
- Intermediate Excel, Word & Outlook skills
- Experience with COINS, TM1 and finance leasing systems preferable
