Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Full Time Accountant at Moorabbin Airport. This is a fulltime permanent position which requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously within a team environment.
Hours are Monday to Friday between 9am- 5pm – Full time Salary - $75,000 - $85,000
Your responsibilities include:
The role is required to provide support to the team and the organization relating to financial reporting, auditing, accounting information systems, budgeting, cost management, planning and decision-making, ensuring the policy guidelines and strategic governances are met.
Role Requirements-
Prepare annual statutory accounts, to ensure compliance with all constitutional and legislative financial reporting requirements.
Introduce accounting systems with strong focus on computer based technologically advanced accounting systems to increase efficiency. Propose & implement effective record
keeping & financial record management systems for the organization. Preparing financial statements for presentation to boards of directors,
assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies and substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Review of general ledger at month end for accuracy and coding consistency
Managing colleague’s workloads and deadlines and preparing forms and conducting
financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking audits and advising on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation
examining operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure
introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
maintaining internal control systems
may appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.
Monthly review of Aged Accounts Receivable and Payables and action where required Preparation and monitoring of cashflow
The minimum requirements the successful candidate will possess include the following:
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong problem solving and investigation skills.
A strong work ethic with a desire to learn and be developed.
The ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team environment.
Previous work experience in the Airlines/ Transport / Logistic industry, although this is highly desirable but not essential.
