The Job……
Reporting through to the Financial Controller and supported by the Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Accounts Receivable – reconcile accounts, collect on overdues and investigate irregularities
- Assist with General Ledger reconciliations
- Work with internal stakeholders to assess account anomalies and ensure overdue accounts are brought up to date either by reconciling the account or following the collection process
- Ensure invoices are coded correctly and added to the system to all for an accurate COGS report
- Assist with stock takes and COGS journals to produce timely analysis
- Relieve and assist other accounting staff as required by cross training internally
- Contribute to finance meetings
- Support the AP team
- Contribute to continuous process improvements
- Preparation of monthly profit and loss statements
- Assist with the annual budget process and adhoc projects as required
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following:
- Ideally you will be degree qualified in Commerce, Business or Finance with a major in accounting
- Minimum 1-2 years experience working in accounts
- Experience working with Mews or Microsoft Great Plains a benefit but not essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role as a high level of stakeholder engagement is a must
- Ability to meet deadlines with a task oriented approach to work
- An enthusiastic and upbeat attitude with a genuine desire to make a positive difference
