Accounts Assistant/Debtors

Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron is located on the southern end of Manly Boat Harbour on the shores of Moreton Bay and is recognised as one of the largest marine facilities in Australia.

The Finance Team are looking for an experienced Accounts Clerk to join us to specifically focus on controlling debtors.

Your role will also include (but not be limited to)

• Attend to member account queries.
• Follow up overdue invoices.
• Process monthly statements.
• Preparation of weekly debtors’ reports.
• Accounts receivable and payable control
• daily banking & receipting
• reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• data entry & general administrative tasks
• assisting the CFO and other team members

The position is diverse and "hands on" and you will need to be willing to cross function within the Finance Team. You must be willing to undertake debt collection and follow up unpaid accounts daily.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Intermediate computer skills with MS Excel, Office, accounting software (micropower/MSL) and databases
• past bookkeeping experience (cert 3 level preferred)
• high attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
• strong communication and administration skills
• strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
• demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks

This will initially be a part-time role (25-30 hours pw) with a competitive hourly rate to secure the right person. The option may be available to increase to full-time if preferred.
