We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer with exposure in a similar role or industry to join our Accounts Team. More importantly, we are seeking someone with a fantastic attitude who wants to grow professionally in a company that values hard work and rewards results.
The Role
The Accounts Officer’s primary focus is to:
- Perform the day-to-day processing of various financial transactions (both accounts payable and receivable) to ensure that company finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner
- Balance daily takings from all Branches within the Group and advise the Senior Accounts Officer of any variances or concerns
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure company accounts remain up to date and free of constraints at all times
- Process new customer account applications, complete credit analysis and arrange credit/insurance levels as per company procedure
- Maintain the customer Master Data, making changes as requested
- Post and reconcile customer payments
- Process customer refunds in a timely manner
- Assist with end of month procedures
Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated accounting/bookeeping experience within a large and complex environment
- Ability to work under limited supervision in a high transactional environment. Speed and accuracy are integral to success in this role.
- Knowledge of SAGE ERP (preferred)
- Strong people, communication and organisational skills
- High level computer skills and high proficiency with Excel
- High level of problem solving and analytical skills
