About the Team
The Procurement Branch is responsible for partnering with business areas to source goods and services through a centralised procurement model. Our mission is to ensure value-for-money outcomes by applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Procurement Policy. Additionally, our Grants function supports business areas in conducting grant activities in line with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines, relevant policies, and legislation.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled APS6 Grants Officer to join our dynamic team. This role offers reasonable autonomy and accountability, requiring initiative and judgment in interpreting legislation and policy. You will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, and operational support and advice to solve complex problems. Additionally, you will assist in strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.
- Provide complex grants policy advice in line with Commonwealth and internal policies and legislation.
- Partner with various business areas to support their grant activities.
- Maintain and ensure compliance of the grants template suite with relevant policies and legislation.
- Prepare grants reports and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement within the Grants function.
About you
To thrive in this role, you need:
- Strong ability to exercise initiative and judgment in applying practices and procedures.
- Experience in providing policy and operational support and advice on complex issues.
- Proficiency in coordinating and assisting with strategic planning and project management.
- Excellent public contact skills, capable of handling complex, difficult, or sensitive issues.
- Effective communication and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in grant administration or providing grant policy advice.
- Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
