Accounts Officer

Norman R. Wright & Sons is one of the longest-standing and renowned companies in the Australian boat building industry and operates out of a purpose built facility adjacent to the Rivergate Marina Complex at Murarrie, Brisbane.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Officer to join our small, friendly office team on a full-time basis. 

Supporting the Office Manager, this role will encompass all aspects of accounts and office administration.

 Accounts Payable

• Full function including accurate invoice entry, obtaining relevant approvals where required, monthly reconciliations, payment processing and supplier maintenance.

Payroll

• Daily entry of timesheets 
• Weekly processing of payroll (35 staff)
• Employee and payroll administration including employee set-up and maintenance, leave reconciliations, superannuation, award interpretation, apprentice and Workcover administration.

General Accounts and Administration

• Credit card and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and EOY reconciliations and reporting.  
• General office administration tasks – archiving, stationery orders etc.

This role would suit someone who has experience in accounts payable and is looking to expand their knowledge set and play an integral role in our small, friendly team.   

Ideally, the successful applicant will possess the following:

• A minimum of 1 years’ Accounts Payable experience with a sound knowledge of accounting principles (essential)
• Experience working with MYOB (preferred) 
• Payroll experience (preferred – full training available)
• Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook knowledge 
• Strong attention to detail 
• Highly organised and methodical 
• Professional written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude are a must..
