About the Role
As an integral member of the project finance team based in Sydney, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success and integrity of their projects. As an Accounts Officer working in their Project Finance Team, you will be responsible for maintaining efficient communication with Project Managers and/or Partners on a daily basis regarding the financial performance of projects. Additionally, you will be involved in various tasks including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver efficient communication with Project Managers and/or Partners on a daily basis regarding projects' financial performances.
- Monitor projects, maintain status, and ensure validity in the system within the necessary time frames.
- Raise and issue invoices to clients regularly, following a predetermined schedule (e.g., monthly or upon reaching milestone stages).
- Provide training to new joiners to navigate the system and familiarize them with finance forms.
- Assist Project Managers/Partners with new client setup, including appropriate credit checks.
- Ensure accurate project setup, budgets, and rates, along with any ongoing project administration.
- Conduct all documentation and communication as per Company objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Clear projects variances on a weekly basis.
- Ensure timely posting of any company-owned equipment and/or mileage claims in the projects.
- Perform reporting and other functions as required.
- Ensure completion of projects by fully reconciling and closing them properly in the system.
- You MUST have the ability to work on a permanent basis.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project accounting or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and project management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
