About the position

The Accounts Payable Team leader is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in the delivery of Accounts Payable services for ADT Security Australia, including processing of all supplier invoices, and other payments, in an accurate and timely manner. 

The role is expected to operate with some degree of autonomy in respect to day to day work priorities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  1. Assist the Finance Manager in providing the full range of service delivery for suppliers of ADT Security, in the area of processing payments including employees’ reimbursement claims; invoices; purchase card statements; travel statements; and all other non-payroll payments.
  2. Monitor compliance with all Finance policies and procedure guidelines relating to the Accounts Payable ensuring work is conducted accordingly. Contribute to the development and updating of relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to reflect changes and improvements. 
  3. Assess and monitor the workflows of Accounts Payable IBC team to ensure payments are processed efficiently within terms of trade and prompt payment guidelines.
  4. Act as the first level of support for Accounts Payable IBC team members queries. Assist in knowledge sharing activities with the Financial Accountants.
  5. Assist in the Updating and maintaining of electronic records to ensure timely, accurate and up-to-date information is available.
  6. Assist in the Preparation of reports on all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, as required.
  7. Assist in the month-end and year-end processing including the preparation of relevant general journals and assist in the perpetration of General ledger reconciliations.
  8. Be available and maintain necessary skills act as a backup for the Financial Accountant.
  9. Provide support during the year-end process and any audit requirements.
  10. Contributing to an ERP migration from Pronto to MYOB Advanced / Acumatica.

You will have proven background in Accounts Payable Management 

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas.

Reporting ability: Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.

Working knowledge of financial strategies.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.

Strong analytical skills together with solid problem-solving ability to address challenges and overcome obstacles in the pursuit of business development goals.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Ability to handle pressure, you  can work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing conditions and adjust strategies, accordingly, staying agile in response to evolving business landscapes.

Industry Knowledge: prepared to develop an understanding of the specific industry and market in which the company operates, including regulatory considerations, competitive factors, and emerging trends. Preparedness to secure a Security License if not already attained. 

Project Management: Effective project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor business development initiatives within defined timelines and budgets.

  • To provide support to the Finance team to achieve a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders across the business in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Manage a high volume of work across the Accounts Payable IBC team, displaying an ability to prioritize and organize your own workloads in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ensure that all activities are completed with minimal errors to reduce the requirement for rework. 
  • Maintaining a knowledge of relevant internal policies, procedures and guidelines and other external requirements including compliance with relevant Australian Taxation Office rules.
  • Contribution to the updating of policies, procedures and guidelines.
