THE ROLE
An opportunity has become available for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our back office finance team in Carrum Downs on a fixed term contract. Reporting to the Financial Controller, our AR Officer is responsible for collecting all monies from customers on a timely basis.
This six month contract role (with a potential view for permanent) consists of three primary responsibilities with a mix of Accounting (cash receipting), Credit Control (chasing overdue monies) and Financial Control (bank reconciliations). The immediate focus will be on chasing 1-90 days debt and maintain a forecast of what monies are expected in the upcoming weeks.
Some of the key responsibilities are:
- Ensure monies are collected on time with minimal risks of default.
- Investigate, accurately process and reconcile credit claims, promotional expenses and cash receipts
- Match payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Prepare periodically debt collection reporting for cash flow purposes
- Follow up and report on overdue accounts
- Assist with process efficiencies and identifying opportunities to enhance the ERP
- Provide accounts payable relief if and when required
- Any other account receivables and ad-hoc duties when required
- Establish great relationships with internal and external customers
- Ensure queries are dealt with promptly and in a professional manner
- Identify and control potential credit or other commercial risks
- Assist with accounts related queries
ABOUT YOU
This pivotal role is best suited to an experienced AR Officer with demonstrated experience as Accounts Officer or AR Officer.
You will be a confident and experienced Accounts Receivable professional capable of working in a fast-paced and flexible environment. You draw on your experience to proactively process through your daily tasks and priorities. You will have to focus on high quality, timely outcomes and be able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable position
- Previous experience working in an FMCG/manufacturing environment desirable
- Experience in credit control will be viewed favourably
- Sharp attention to deal
- Excellent communication skills and phone manner for interaction with customers and staff alike
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Versatile; to be able to cover short-term assistance to other Finance functions.
- ERP Experience essential. Business Central Dynamics 365 preferred.
- Experience in processing and analysing Trade/Promotional expenditure will be viewed favourably.
- An ability to be firm but fair when dealing with our accounts
