Role Overview
As the Accounts Receivable Officer, you will be reporting into the Finance Manager. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing and management of the Accounts Receivable function.
A typical day in this role will see you managing the function of Accounts Receivable, including but not limited to debtor management including receipting & adjustments, collections, invoicing & ensuring correct revenue recognition, banking and daily bank statement reconciliations, and ad hoc duties as required.
Responsibilities
- Processing customer credit account applications
- Validating trade credit references
- Debt collection
- Review customer accounts on credit hold/moving to default and initiate legal action if necessary
- Evaluate credit risks and suggest solutions aimed to mitigate the risk exposure
- Customer account reconciliation
- Applying customer payments
- Bank Reconciliation
- End of month statements
- Customer account (Data) maintenance
- Finance tasks processing in QAD
- Update CRM with new/changed customer details
- Create new trade customers in QAD
- Prepare weekly AR reporting
- Provide collections forecast for inclusion in the weekly cash flow.
- Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
Candidate Profile
You are a driven, self-motivated individual who is seeking a long-term position where you can grow and develop within your career. You have proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Officer in a fast-paced industry (FMCG desirable) and are ready to take the next step in your career where you can grow and develop your skills. The successful candidate is a strong communicator who is proficient in Excel. You will display a high level of analytical and numeracy skills and have a desire to develop business acumen.
