Role Overview
The Accounts Receivable Officer will be responsible for processing and monitoring payments and expenditures providing financial and administrative assistance to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
Main Responsibilities
This role requires Accounts Processing and Financial Transactions to be performed accurately and within advised timelines, standards and limits of authority, and by following established accounting procedures, perform the day to day processing of financial transactions for Accounts Receivable or Payable and associated duties, such as:
- Liaise/work with shared service team to ensure they have what they need to manage the day-to-day Accounts Receivable function
- Establish and maintain effective relationships between EnerSys and its trade debtors
- Effectively manage a selected portfolio of Trade Debt
- Assist with end of Month closing
- Establish and maintain effective credit limits
- Customer payment allocation and journal processing
- Accurate database entry into the ERP system and routine accounts reconciliation
- Process and follow up on accounts in a timely manner
- Process credit card payments
- Review AR ledger and report to Finance
- Monitor debtor balances
- Liaise directly with reporting agencies, credit referral agencies, government departments, liquidators and administrators, or any other external body involved in the collections process
- Reconcile complex accounts that have been escalated from the AR team
- Banking and Bank Reconciliations
- Provide credit control including monitoring accounts for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
- Provide reports and analysis on Aged Debtors, collect, analyse, and summarise account information, discrepancies and trends
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business-related field of study
- 5 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable and collections in a medium sized business
- ERP experience - Previous ERP experience with Fourthshift, and/or Pronto an advantage.
- Delivery of exemplary customer service, a ‘can do’ attitude and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Demonstrated ability to reduce debtor days, liaise with a variety of debtors and clients
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing
- Ability to build and manage credible and productive internal and external working relationships.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Able to work independently and in a team with strong time management and prioritizing / organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines
- Ability to reconcile complex accounts
- Proficiency in English and MS Office Suite of Tools
