Position Title: Administration Assistant
Reports to: Business Support and Finance Officer

As the Administration Assistant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the team to deliver our rapidly expanding vegetation carbon farming projects.

Nativ Carbon’s purpose is to assist industry to deliver on their decarbonisation commitments through the development of biodiverse environmental plantings W.A.
We leverage our expertise in bio-diverse native vegetation, project management and access to millions of seedlings to deliver practical offset plantings at scale. Last year Nativ Carbon delivered over 5000ha of environmental plantings throughout regional Western Australia.

Where you fit in
Nativ Carbon works with companies and organisations who wish to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU's) through vegetation farming in the West Australian Wheatbelt.
Nativ Carbon is committed to working with stakeholders to increase carbon sequestration in vegetation and soil to reduce Australia's net carbon emissions.
As Administration Assistant you will support the Business Support and Finance Officer during busy periods with a variety of administrative tasks. Your flexibility and all-rounder skills will mean you can assist with a wide range of tasks to keep the office running smoothly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- General bookkeeping tasks such as invoice processing
- Collecting, scanning, photocopying, and filing documents
- Monitoring, responding to and filing emails
- Updating subcontractor databases
- Reviewing accounting reports and updating company asset registers
- Assisting in managing office supplies
- Booking accommodation and travel for team members
- Coordinating new starter setup and office visitors
- Reception duties including answering phones, greeting clients
- Assisting with printing of promotional materials
- Light cleaning duties.
- Organise meetings and events, including arranging catering.
- Ensuring adherence to safety standards and office cleanliness
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous administrative support experience.
- Attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately
- Initiative, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Polite and professional phone manner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Xero (preferable)
- Proactive attitude and customer service approach.
- Quick learning ability and willingness to grow.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment with the cultural context when working with Aboriginal or other Indigenous peoples.
- Demonstrated competence in written and oral communication skills, highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to use Microsoft Office programs in the preparation of reports.
Salary: We believe in rewarding people based on their performance and value to the company. A competitive salary package will be negotiated based on experience and skill set.
Salary range: $30-$35 per hour plus superannuation
Hours:
This role is a casual contract and hours averaging 10 hours per week over 2 days but may vary from 5 – 15 hours per week depending on the business activities across the year.
The role would suit someone wanting to work school hours or a Business student wanting to gain practical experience whilst completing their studies.
