About Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics
Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MTHC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Melbourne and provides world class clinical training opportunities for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences students. It also provides patient access to high quality health care for members of the Victorian community, within a private practice setting. There are six clinical areas that are central to this service, and they include general medical practice, dentistry, optometry, audiology, speech pathology and psychology.

About Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic
Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic (MHCC) is an affiliate of the University of Melbourne. Postgraduate audiology students from the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the School of Health Sciences provide hearing services under the supervision of leading audiologists in Melbourne.
- Services provided at our clinic include:
- Full diagnostic hearing assessments from newborn to adult.
- Electrophysiological assessments (including Auditory Brainstem Response and Cortical Evoked Response Audiometry).
- Expert advice relating to the management of hearing loss.
- Hearing needs discussions and recommendations for fitting of new hearing aids.
- Evaluation and adjustment of existing hearing aids.
- Vestibular assessments for people with dizziness or imbalance are conducted by specialist audiologists in The Balance Disorders Unit.
- Tinnitus evaluation and the development of a personalised management strategy is provided by our Tinnitus Management Service.
- The Autism Clinic provides hearing assessment and management by specially trained audiologists.
- The Auditory Processing clinic assesses and identifies difficulties in interpreting sounds where normal hearing is present.
The University of Melbourne Centre for Auditory Neuroscience is also located in the Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic and is dedicated to the diagnosis and management of disorders affecting the auditory nerve and central auditory pathways. The service is aimed at infants, children and adults diagnosed with auditory neuropathy and individuals with hearing problems associated with neurodegenerative disease.
About the RoleWe are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Administration Manager in our Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic. In this newly created position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Clinic Director with day-to-day operations and overseeing the administrative team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and enhance the efficiency of clinical practice and patient care through the implementation of innovative processes. As the Administration Manager, you will lead and mentor the administrative team, ensuring a high standard of service.
Collaboration with the Clinic Director and Lead Audiologists will be essential as you work towards optimising workforce utilisation and productivity levels. Additionally, you will assist clinicians in delivering direct patient care in alignment with the Clinic's standards and policies, ensuring the provision of high-quality audiology services. The role also involves providing operational oversight during the Clinic Director's absence and offering support to our other clinics.

About youEssential Selection Criteria
- Relevant qualifications and/or work experience in a front desk customer service environment, with previous demonstrated experience leading a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and following through on tasks. Demonstrated track record of high-quality internal and external customer service provision.
- Proactive and positive approach to identifying process improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrated capacity to proactively drive and support improvements in customer service and administration through the use of initiative, while also showcasing the ability to work autonomously, analyse problems, and apply a diverse range of options to develop effective solutions. Strong leadership and demonstrated negotiation skills to foster co-operation and support from others in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and build productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to use software such as the MS Office Suite, internet and email, and a patient management system (e.g., Zedmed and Titanium).
- Capacity for constructive self-reflection and learning from actions and feedback.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within an audiology, allied health or medical environment.
- Ability to operate EFTPOS machines and a capacity to deal with banks and medical insurance funds.
- Experience with patient management systems, Medicare billing, NDIS billing, Private Insurance Claims and Australian Government Hearing Services Program.
- Awareness of communication needs of hearing and communication impaired clients.
