About the role
The purpose of the Administration Officer – Accounts Receivable position is B2B Accounts Receivable within the accounts department. This role assists the business in tracking revenue and ensuring payments are received and accurately recorded.
As part of the Accounts Receivable duties, this role will work with other departments within our company to ensure that all financial transactions are carried out effectively and efficiently.
Key Accountabilities
Debtor Control for assigned branches
- Debtor Accounts queries/reconciliations/journals
- Liaise with Regional Managers/Branch Supervisors/Account Managers as required
- Credit Limits/ Client letters
- Reminders and follow-up of overdue accounts as required
- Branch overdue reports
- Applying unapplied credits/payments as per SQL report
- Fostering a commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration to apply efficient and effective procedures.
- Account terms review
- Participate in strategic planning and project implementation
- Credit Card payments
- Processing Monthly Credit Card payments
Processing of transactions in time for the month-end procedure and keeping debtors’ days to a minimum to ensure a healthy cash flow
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in AR can substitute for educational requirement
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrates strong computer literacy and can pick up systems quickly
- An AR Officer requires an understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations.
- This role has a high level of focus on accuracy, attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to navigate rationally through work challenges and obstacles
- Capacity to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse stakeholder group, both internally and externally
- Can communicate effectively and has well-developed negotiation skills
- High level of oral & written communication
