As the Administration Officer (Procurement), you will undertake the delivery of less complex procurement projects including initial planning, development of relevant documentation, and establishment of contracts.Client DetailsThe Department of Agriculture and Fisheries promotes profitable and sustainable agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries for Queensland. By working with us, you will have the opportunity to work with staff from across the business unit and department to assist in resolving issues and ensuring operational requirements are met while contributing to team goals.DescriptionUnder the guidance of the Forestry Procurement Officer: Undertake less complex procurement projects including initial planning, development of documentation and establishment of contracts, ensuring compliance with state and departmental procurement policy, achievement of desired business outcomes and delivery of value for money.Contribute to the development of local desktop guides and training sessions on processes within the procurement section including procurement procedures and template documentation such as invitation documentation and evaluation plans.Analyse procurement matters, identifying and assessing options and recommending strategies to resolve issues.Maintain a detailed documentary record of procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements undertaken ensuring the audit trail is adequately maintained and documented for probity, accountability and audit purposes.Contribute to negotiations with suppliers and liaise with personnel both within and outside of the department.Liaise with internal clients to determine requirements and progress of procurement projects, and external contractors in the conduct of less complex procurement projects.Develop, maintain and monitor positive and constructive relationships with internal clients and external Suppliers for the purpose of achieving and sustaining customer satisfaction and value for money.Meet deadlines and commitments, and complete tasks within relevant time-frames, both independently and within a team.Monitor and control own workload, taking responsibility (in consultation with the Forestry Procurement Officer) for allocation and reallocation of work as circumstances require.Contribute to the achievement of an equitable, ethical and safe working environment for staff, which has an emphasis on commitment, and continuous improvement directed towards the achievement of the business group goals and objectives.Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the Forestry Procurement Officer and Business Manager.ProfileDemonstrated experience in a similar Procurement role within the last 12 months to two years.Previous experience in a government procurement environment will be highly regarded.Initiates two-way communication by providing information and advice in a timely, proactive and non-technical manner.Achieves mutually beneficial outcomes by listening intently and asking questions to understand the requirements and perspective of others.Actively seeks feedback and modifies approach to enhance own effectiveness.Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, meet deadlines, establish priorities and work as an effective member of a team to successfully contribute to organisational objectives.Knowledge and/or understanding of the Queensland State Purchasing Policy and procurement policies and frameworks will be highly regarded.Job OfferFull-time temporary role until 31st of December 2024 with an opportunity for extension.Attractive rates available.Salary sacrificing options.To apply online please click the 'Apply' button below.
