About you:
You will have demonstrated ability to coordinate bookings and manage records within a health care environment, proven ability to work autonomously and act as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality services to clients and high-level oral and written communication skills to enable negotiation and interaction in individual and group situations (e.g., with team members, patients, internal or external clients or stakeholders).
Your opportunity:
Provide an efficient outpatient booking service for patients and provide efficient utilisation of booking time available for Consultants and Clinicians. Position provides a high level of customer service, demonstrating understanding, empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
Your role:
- Proficiently organise and ordinate patient appointment activities, including the arrival of patients, booking appointments, management of cancellation/rescheduling of clinics, management of clinic waiting lists and coordinating appointments with other services. Ensuring follow up appointments are arranged.
- Respond to general customer enquiries over the phone, email, and in person and assist staff and clients in the work unit as requested.
- High-level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Provide excellent customer services and communicate clearly and confidently with patients, members of the public, and departmental staff over the phone, via email, and in person and assist staff and clients in the work unit as requested.
- Utilise information systems to record and update all patient demographic information, Medicare details and referral details. Also, using these systems to track the movement of patient charts, health fund details and admission details, ensuring data integrity and patient confidentiality by adhering to approved policies, guidelines, and workplace instructions.
- Processing referrals and managing appointment scheduling in collaboration with clinical staff to ensure compliance within clinical guidelines and Policy Framework for Specialist Outpatients Clinics.
