Road Sense Australia provides community education for road users to decrease the rates of traffic offences committed on our roads. Our aim is to decrease fatalities and the permanent impairment statistics of all Australian road users.
About the Role
The Administration Officer will be primarily responsible for providing comprehensive program support to the Program Manager(s) to ensure the smooth implementation and operation of all road safety programs in accordance with the organisation's strategic plan.
The role will assist in the monitoring of key program milestones and managing the process from start-up to implementation, the role will identify key requirements needed in the short to medium term to facilitate the start-up, development and on-going refinement of our road safety programs. This will include working to ensure key outcomes are achieved at all stages of the program lifespan, from development and implementation to facilitation. This will include leveraging partnerships that are critical in supporting effective program delivery.
This role is an integral part of the organisation structure and will be critical in helping the Program Manager(s) to ensure that all elements of our programs are on a solid footing from the outset.
The primary purpose of the role is to:
- Assist in the development, design, and implementation of road safety programs.
- Assist the Program Manager(s) to ensure relevant program policies, procedures and guidelines are formulated, communicated, and implemented.
- General administration and office support duties including phone and email support.

You will be an engaging communicator with a strong ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships. This position will require you to engage with key stakeholders in the following areas:
- the development of services;
- the coordination of activities; and
- ensuring that all program requirements are met and maintained.

The role will require ongoing training and professional development as it’s crucial to the candidate’s success.
This is an entry-level position; however, the successful candidate must demonstrate an interest in project management, design, customer relations and be able to demonstrate the following skills:
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualification in administration, management, business, events management, or another related discipline.
Preferred Experience
- A sound knowledge of contemporary business and project management practices.
- Proven ability to achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets and under time pressures.
- Comprehensive understanding of the project management life cycle and an ability to track and report against milestones.
- Proven track record in stakeholder management, including an ability to build relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Capability in financial/budget management and KPI reporting.
- Experience in contract management and interpretation, ensuring that contracted parties are meeting deliverables.
- Broad understanding of the processes and systems required to develop and support newly established programs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Advanced computer skills are required for MS Office programs.
- Experience working in not-for-profit organisations.
- Experience working in a politically sensitive environment or complex organisation.
