Banksia Palliative Care Service (Banksia) is a not for profit community based Palliative Care organisation providing services across Banyule, Nillumbik and Whittlesea with offices situated in Heidelberg.
We have undergone continuous growth over recent years and we are not finished yet - we are growing and are embarking on an exciting time!
We need a motivated, passionate, experienced Administration Team Leader who is able to support the CEO, to join our dynamic, cohesive and caring admin team in this newly developed position which will report directly to the CEO- we are looking for the right person.
We want someone unique! We are looking for a person who can help us to achieve our exciting goals! We are looking a “Jack of all admin trades”. We need someone who (among other things):
- is a great people manager, a leader who can provide support and oversight of a high-functioning admin team;
- can work with and support a busy CEO, including taking meeting minutes;
- is highly efficient, a little creative, flexible, lateral thinking and willing to work with an amazing clinical team, who do a very emotional, but essential work EVERY day…

Experience in a health setting would be an advantage, but it is not essential, however you should ensure you have a very clear understanding and knowledge of Palliative Care.
This is a part-time position - we are looking for someone to work 4 days/week (Tues - Fri) at the office - we do not offer WFH or hybrid options.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an easy-going, adaptable, proactive Team Leader, with extensive, management experience in Administration – essential.
- Have proven and demonstrable ability to provide exceptional administrative management across a range of areas including reception, office administration and executive support - essential.
- Possess problem solving skills with demonstrable lateral thinking and be willing to be extremely flexible – essential.
- Have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing health environment in a rapidly growing organisation.
- Be able to demonstrate well-honed computer and typing skills, be highly skilled in the use of Office programs, and willing to learn and use new systems including client information system and incident reporting system.
- Possess the ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively and logically to competing demand.
- Be motivated by working as part of a cohesive, respectful and dynamic multidisciplinary health and Administration Team.
- Have a demonstrated ability to work unsupervised while maintaining accountability.
- Have a thorough understanding of Palliative Care, with demonstrable experience in dealing with stakeholders and providing exceptional customer service to a very diverse range of people - essential.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills – essential.
- Hold a current and unrestricted drivers license.
- Be a permanent Australian resident.
- Mandatorily agree to undertaking a National Police Check.
- Have a current working-with-children certificate (WWC) - mandatory.
