Ongoing Part Time - 38 Hours Per Fortnight
The Molecular Pathology Laboratory in the Department of Pathology is looking for an administration worker to join our team to support the molecular diagnostic service. The ongoing part-time (19 hours per week) position presents an exciting opportunity to gain invaluable experience in this rapidly growing field. Previous experience working in Pathology, or in a science or healthcare field, would be an advantage.
You will support the Molecular Pathology Laboratory to provide the highest quality of molecular services to the patients of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and its external clients through the provision of day to day administrative support to the department, including but not limited to:
Request, track & follow-up requests for testing materials from external laboratories.
Telephony.
Input and extraction of data to providing basic information / reports (from a number of clerical & LIMS systems).
Understanding hospital procedures, information requirements and protocols in order to communicate and provide support to members of the public.
Liaising with clinical staff internally and external.
Working collaboratively and cooperatively with others, sharing a variety of tasks contributing to achievement of work area outcomes.
