Our Mitochondrial Medicine and Biology Team is looking for an Administrative Assistant to support with the procurement of laboratory supplies and other administrative activities.
Working alongside the research team, you will play an important role in ensuring the lab is well organised, maintained and stocked. As part of that you will liaise closely with our current vendors to maintain strong relationships and support the expansion of our supplier network to ensure ongoing quality and cost-effectiveness.
In addition, you will also support the coordination of meetings and travel arrangements for the team.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Source, purchase, and order chemicals, reagents, and laboratory consumables according to the laboratory's needs and specifications.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Arrange team travel and bookings.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, bookings and recordings.
About You
This position would suit someone who is just starting out in their career with strong communication and organisational skills, along with the following skills and experience:
- Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Cloud programs.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Previous experience in accounting and providing procurement support is highly desirable.
- Strong time management skills.
