The role

This is a unique opportunity to influence Catholic school outcomes by providing essential support to Catholic education proprietors, through expert Employee Relations advice.

As the Advisor, you will be responsible for providing advice on enterprise agreements and employment legislation, conducting comprehensive research to support enterprise bargaining periods, and aiding in the seamless implementation of Employee Relations policies and processes. 

Your contributions will be crucial in supporting Catholic education proprietors in fostering positive and supportive working environments, across the Victorian Catholic sector.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience in Employee Relations, industrial relations, or human resources, preferably within an education or similar organisational setting. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and Enterprise Agreements with a proactive approach to keeping up-to-date with changes in employment law and industry trends. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and analyse Employee Relations issues and provide practical recommendations. 
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively and to build strong relationships with stakeholders. 
  • Attention to detail with good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines. 
  • Professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information. 
  • Experience in Employee Relations policy development and strong policy writing skills

Qualifications and Experience

Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management, Employee/Industrial relations, Law or other related field is desirable.

A minimum of two years’ experience in an Employee Relations or people and culture role with Employee Relations responsibilities.
