Afternoon Shift Manager

Natures Cargo is looking for a hands on Afternoon Shift Manager to manage our existing afternoon team at our Wendouree distribution centre.

Natures Cargo is an award winning, family owned and operated Wholesale Foodservice Distribution business that has operated in the foodservice industry for over 36 years. We have distribution centres in Ballarat, Thomastown, Traralgon and supply foodservice outlets all across Victoria. We carry a large range of over 8000 frozen, refrigerated and dry goods which are sourced from over 500 suppliers. Reporting to the Operations Manager the successful candidate will be employed on a full time basis and work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide leadership to the existing mid size warehouse team to ensure high levels of productivity and accuracy.
• Regular communication with the Senior Management Team to continually improve and develop new efficiencies and procedures to our Afternoon Shift
• Ensuring optimum pick rates and accuracy.
• Doing put aways and movements/ receivables of incoming stock 
• Running and loading lunch trucks 
• Using RF scanners 
• When required conduct manual work including picking, loading and unloading goods
• Ensuring all current polices & procedures are being followed
• Maintaining facility requirements to HACCP standards and OH&S compliance.
• Support all Stock Control/Purchasing objectives
• Work closely with key stakeholders across the business
• Maintain all Warehouse equipment in line with safety regulations

• Physically capable of carrying out the work
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Prior experience in foodservice industry of frozen & refrigerated products would be an advantage 
• Organisational and time management skills
• Be motivated to achieve KPI's and goals
• A good understanding of warehouse and distribution functions
• Forklift license essential
• Truck license is not essential but would be preferred

Prior experience in wholesale food distribution or temperature controlled industries will be highly regarded.
