Australian Professional Skills Institute (APSI) is a leading private vocational training institute based in East Perth. We are seeking a Trainer and Assessor for Aged Care and disability care. APSI delivers a range of certificates and diplomas in individual support, disability care, ageing support and community services.

The ideal candidate must have:
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Relevant Nursing/Aged Care qualifications
- Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience
Preferred skills and knowledge:
- Knowledge in training in Vocational Education Sector
- Previous training experience in similar areas
- Experience in delivering group training to a diverse mix of students
- Delivering and assessing qualifications and units of competency, meeting training standard requirements within aligned training packages
- A good understanding of current community services and Aged Care industry practice in Australia
- Advanced organisational skills and attention to detail with demonstrated effective time management skills and problem solving skills
- High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use modern technology for teaching such as LMS platform and to assist in developing e-learning tools for course delivery.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is able to demonstrate high level of current knowledge in the Aged Care industry.
- Proactively to identify potential workplaces and industry contacts for work placement.
- Your Role
1. Plan, prepare and deliver training and assessments, including recognition of prior learning to students in Aged Care and community services.
2. Conduct and coordinate workplace training and assessments in the workplace according to APSI workplace policies and procedures and training package assessment requirements.
3. Liaise with various industry stakeholders and APSI training partners to discuss work placements and update on industry practices
4. Participate in validation and moderation of assessments and course materials on a regular prescribed basis.
5. Conduct industry consultation relevant to the units and the qualifications with industry experts.
6. Mark assessments and provide feedback to students according to APSI's assessment policy and procedure.
7. Maintain professional development/currency to ensure personal knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to their training and assessing duties and ensure they are current and constantly advanced.
8. Implement a continual improvement process regarding the training and assessment duties by acknowledging and acting on feedback from students and stakeholders.
