Role:  Agency account director
Location: Adelaide, South Australia
Employment status: Full time 
Salary band:  Competitive dependent on experience

WHO YOU ARE

We’re looking for a dynamic, marketing-obsessed account director to collaborate with our diverse, innovative team. Your passion for client success will shine as you navigate a constantly evolving landscape, delivering exceptional digital experiences. You’ll be the liaison between the Slice team and our clients on several key accounts, and you’ll relish the challenge of growing and nurturing those relationships, constantly advocating for the client (and their customers/audience) to make sure we’re achieving their objectives and doing our very best work. 

You’re an astute completer/finisher with a “get sh*t done” attitude, and you’ll thrive on managing multiple projects, campaigns and stakeholders at one time. You’ll work closely with the Slice MD to manage resources and plan capacity, and you’ll be a gun at proactively pushing work through the agency, galvanising the creative team and ensuring that client timelines and expectations are communicated and met.

You’re a big picture thinker that gets equally obsessed by the details; even the most ambitious ideas can be broken down into bite-sized chunks of work across a timeline. There’s nothing we could throw at you that you can’t make happen – and you can efficiently and effectively get things done yourself or through others, equally happy working both autonomously and as part of a team.

You challenge people with new ways of thinking and never settle for the status quo. You’re ahead of the curve with what’s happening within the brand storytelling, content marketing and digital marketing worlds, and keen to share with everyone. You like to focus on the positives in life and seek solutions rather than dwell on challenges, quickly shifting gears if an account needs a different approach.

You have good business sense and a solid grasp of finance, budgeting, and operations. You also know how to turn a business challenge into a marketing or content opportunity. You understand and can talk to the role of digital marketing in the marketing ecosystem, and how to build engaged owned audiences through brand storytelling. 

As you become more confident in the role and more attuned to our client’s needs, there will also be the opportunity to oversee the execution of integrated digital marketing strategies, and to contribute to creative concepts for clients. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client management

  • You’ll be the primary contact for several key accounts. You’ll own and develop trusted client relationships, act as the liaison between the clients and the Slice team, live and breathe their business (and category), and always be a step ahead to position us as a strategic partner.
  • Manage sticky conversations and situations, and understand when to escalate a concern with a client or project.
  • Advocate for the client (and their customers/audience) to ensure that we’re not just checking off boxes on a to-do list but instead moving them forward and reaching their objectives.

Project management and team coordination

  • Manage multiple projects and campaigns end-to-end. You will develop briefs, host meetings, manage stakeholders and approvals, prioritising areas of focus for yourself and the team based on what will drive the most impact.
  • Work closely with Slice managing director Lizzie to manage team resources and plan capacity.
  • Gather comprehensive business requirements (including through briefing workshops and discovery sessions) and translate them into meaningful, succinct briefs.
  • Proactively push work through the agency, galvanising the creative team and ensuring that client timelines and expectations are communicated and met.
  • Continually refine expectations, processes and approaches to push the productivity and capability of the team.
  • Work with the Slice team to define project scopes, and to prepare and persuasively present commercial proposals to clients.
  • Work directly alongside Slice directors Vanessa and Lizzie to learn, apply and continuously seek to improve the agency’s processes, procedures and technology.

Campaign management

  • As you become more confident in the role and with our client’s needs and objectives, there will also be the opportunity to collaborate with our digital marketing specialists to develop comprehensive strategies aligned with client objectives, and oversee the implementation and optimisation of campaigns to ensure they meet or exceed performance goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and proactively suggest innovative strategies to improve campaign effectiveness.

New business

  • Work closely with the Slice directors to actively pursue new business opportunities and develop proposals, as well as seek out and develop new opportunities with our existing clients.

Other

  • Stay ahead of the curve on brand, digital, and marketing trends
  • Contribute content and ideas to the Slice website and Slice social media
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • At least three years’ experience as an account manager, project manager or in a client-facing role
  • Familiarity with digital marketing (SEO, SEM, organic social, paid social, email marketing)
  • Experience with platforms like HubSpot, Mailchimp, Klayvio, WordPress, Shopify, Meta, Google is a bonus
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral), and the ability to quickly build strong relationships with anyone
  • Confident, clear and engaging presentation skills
  • A fearless command of the English language and impeccable grammar
  • An obsession with understanding complex problems and making them simple to understand
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent project management, and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once
