About the BusinessOur Safer Family Services team delivers a range of services, including intensive family support, to help children stay safely with their families and avoid the need for out-of-home care. They also help families with parenting support, workshops and connection to community events initiatives to improve child safety and wellbeing.Role DetailsThe Supervisor is a role within Community and Family Services and is accountable to the Regional Manager for:

• Providing high quality leadership, that inspires and motivates others to work collaboratively in a coordinated and systemic approach, enabling the team to deliver culturally appropriate child focused service responses that strengthen the safety of vulnerable children and their families.

• Monitoring team workloads, case allocations, performance indicators and deploying resources effectively to deliver high quality service delivery and mitigate risks where identified.

• Building strong relationships with key stakeholders which create collaborative service opportunities available to children and families in crisis or at risk of entering the child protection system.

Special ConditionsNational Police Check required.

Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
Covid -19 – will be required to have had two COVID-19 vaccinations prior to engagement with DHS, unless it would be medically unsafe for the employee to do so, or they’re currently employed in the SA public sector and are not required to be vaccinated.Essential Qualifications:AHP:
An appropriate Social Work qualification from a recognised tertiary institution giving eligibility for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.PO:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in community services, sociology, criminology, social sciences, human services, health or a related field.Persons of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not hold the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department of Human Services.Role Status: Term up to 26/06/2026Salary Range: $102,641-$110,094 (AHP3) $99,788-$105,495 (PO3)Location: Mount GambierEnquiries: Kathryn Ware, 0409586175 Email:
