About the role
Under the general direction of the Child & Youth Services Team Leader the Child & Youth Services Senior Support Worker provides leadership and guidance for Youth Workers staff to achieve positive and quality outcomes for the people CLO supports.
Staff supervision is a key aspect of this position, and the Practice Leader actively supports employee development to support overall participant outcomes.
Lead in creating an empowering environment for participants to maximise their independence in the least restrictive environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Child Protection Act and other legislation's relating Child Protection practice
- Lead dynamic teams in the delivery of program requirements to provide exceptional support services
- working collaboratively with all service recipients to address needs and expectations within established guidelines.
- Develops and produces effective and timely reports utilising appropriate organisational systems and processes.
- Applies person centred, active support and therapeutic support models in provision of services confidently and competently
Essential requirements:
- Current 'C Class' Driver's Licence
- Current DHS (Child-Related) Clearance or DHS Working with Children's check
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or DHS Disability Clearance.
- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 & HLTAID001) - must maintain currency
- Tertiary Qualification in Community services or management (Diploma Level or higher),
- Base level required to be on shift Certificate IV or higher in Disability, Child Youth & Family Intervention
