The Department for Child protection is seeking aPractice Leader, Multicultural to join the Central Region on a full-time term basis.
The role is responsible for:
- Providing leadership and mentoring on culturally responsive child protection practice to DCP employees, including the provision of expert advice regarding legislation and the application of the DCP Practice Approach.
- Leading the development, delivery and evaluation of training programs relating to working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and new and emerging communities (NEC).
- Working collaboratively with office-based Practice Leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure high quality practice in relation to families from CALD and NEC backgrounds.
- Contributing to negotiations with the Department for Home Affairs regarding the Unaccompanied Humanitarian Minors Program in South Australia.
- Monitoring practice quality, identifying practice issues and developing and implementing quality improvement strategies.

To be successful in this role you will have significant clinical experience in providing high quality, culturally responsive and safe practice to vulnerable children, young people and their families and carers.
The role requires you to have comprehensive knowledge of potential complexities involved with the assessment, intervention and evaluation of child protection matters regarding families from CALD and NEC backgrounds, including Humanitarian migrants.
You will also have leadership experience and be able to establish and maintain a professional learning and development environment, including contributing to the delivery of workplace learning opportunities, mentoring, coaching and co-working with staff.
