Air Operations Manager

Your New Role 

We are looking for a dedicated, energetic and experienced Air Operations Manager to join our team on a full time basis located in our Tullamarine office. 

Bring your flexible, Can-Do attitude to work every day and enjoy being part of an amazing team. As well as having experience in a similar role, some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• To ensure Operations Department runs as a cost effective/profitable unit
• Accountability on RACA, CoR and general perishables accreditation and governance 
• To calculate overseas profit splits
• To perform staff appraisals when required
• Review air export SLI’s received 
• To inspect all dangerous goods documentation and cargo (where applicable)
• Analyse departments statistical and financial figures with Directors (when required)
• Enter overseas costing into the operational system
• Undertake any other duties as required by Director
• Documenting Document Change Requests
• Attend and participate in quality meetings as directed by the Managing Director (Operations)/Quality Manager
• Taking appropriate corrective action to prevent recurrence of non-conformances
• Recording internal and external complaints on QIR’s
• Responsibility for the implementation of procedures relating to their area
• Responsibility for the annual review and recording of each staff members training needs
• Responsibility for completing a Skills Inventory and to ensure that all training received is recorded on personal Training Inventory
• Responsibility to ensure that audit deficiencies are corrected with the minimum of delay
• Responsibility for the identification, filing, collection, indexing etc. of all Quality records, which serve to demonstrate achievement of quality requirements and the effective operation of the Quality Management System
• Responsibility for ensuring that cargo is handled so as to prevent the possibility of damage or deterioration
• Responsible for the timely investigation of non-conformance requests, corrective action requests and customer complaint requests directed to them for resolution
• Responsibility for confining all sourcing to Approved Suppliers, and to review all purchase orders which may be documented and to liaise with the Quality Manager when new suppliers are being considered
• Responsible for the review of all documents and amendments generated by their departments and for resolving all outstanding issues
• The responsibility of participating in Quality Planning activities when requested and for implementing those actions
• The responsibility of reviewing the effectiveness and continued stability of the Quality Management System
• The responsibility for documenting all changes resulting from management reviews, the approval of changes to documents and the subsequent re-issue once these changes have been incorporated
• Responsible for the raising and distribution of Delegation of Authority emails
• Responsible for the review of customer purchase orders, telephone, over-the-counter orders and for resolving all outstanding issues
• Responsible for inspecting all freight received or despatched to the consignee or shipper.

Customer service is crucial in this role which means you will need to exercise a level of professionalism and understanding when it comes to customer needs. 

What You Need

• 5 years experience in similar role 
• Experience at a management level 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Excellent negotiation skills 
• High attention to detail
