About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our Coffs Harbour team as an Aircraft Painter/ Surface Finisher. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working a 38hr week over 4 days Monday to Thursday.
Duties include:
- Undertake paint removal, surface preparation including corrosion removal, masking and sealing, and apply paint and coatings to aircraft surfaces.
- Application of markings, graphics and decals in accordance with customer paint schemes.
- Ensure all staff in the Paint Shop department who are conducting surface refinishing activities are to the highest possible standard in compliance with company policies and procedures and Civil Aviation Regulations.
- Sound knowledge of paint preparation and associated products from Dupont/Axanta, Ekzo Nobel, and PPG.
- Actively participate and oversee all aspects of Paint Shop activities within the organisation.·
- Continuously review relevant procedures for improvement opportunities regarding compliance, efficiency and practicality and provide input for amendments.· \
- Provide quality oversight of maintenance activities as they relate to Paint Shop.
- Provide input into customer queries and/or complaints.
- Record work performed in Work Packs for assigned projects.
- Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with Civil Aviation Regulations, aircraft OEM requirements, product manufacturer specifications and Company policy and procedure.
- Ensure the paint shop is maintained in good order including equipment serviceability and ordering of stock.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements as it pertains to activities undertaken and products used.
Applicants should possess the following:
- Successful completion of a trade apprenticeship, with hands on experience in a Spray Painter role – Automotive or Aviation industry exposure is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- High attention to detail with a creative flair for those more intricate schemes.
- Be reliable and enjoy working as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to work with a focus on delivering high quality results.
- Well-developed time management skills and the ability to prioritise work tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Meet the requirements of the Company pre-employment drug and alcohol policy.
- Provide a current National Police Check.
