The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an Allied Health Clinician to join the NDIS Inpatient Specialist Team as the disability Liaison Officer for Northern Health.
This role requires a Grade 2 Allied Health Professional, who is passionate about working with persons with a disability and the teams that surround them. To assist in ensuring access and a positive experience at Northern Health.
The position is fixed term for 2 years, as of the 1st of July, 2024. Part Time: 56.2 hours / 7-day fortnight with flexibility to work reduced hours over increased number of days. Predominately located at our Epping site, with a need to travel across sites as required
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Good understanding of the needs and issues for people who have a disability and a comprehensive knowledge of the range of generic and specialist service options available to clients including but not limited to physical, emotional and mental health, accommodation, legal matters, employment and education.
- Experience and good working knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme or a willingness to learn the pathway and understand the schemes benefits and limitations.
- Proven ability to have good communication to be able to work with a group of key stakeholders to negotiate and advocate for a patient's needs.
- An ability to educate others about the role of the health service
