THE ORGANISATION
Emmanuel College is a co-educational residential college within the University of Queensland. Emmanuel College’s mission is to provide a collegiate environment in which students undertaking tertiary level studies in Brisbane will have the greatest possible opportunity for academic achievement, intellectual development, and personal growth in a supportive Christian environment.
Occupying an enviable position on the banks of the Brisbane River, with public transport and other amenities close to hand, the College is home to around 340 local and international students, who are supported by over 15 College employees.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Alumni Relationships and Engagement Lead (AREL) is responsible for leading the Emmanuel College Alumni Relationships strategy and its subsequent implementation, through the management of Alumni Relationships, activities and events.
The AREL has executive leadership of the alumni development and support function of the College and to support The Principal/CEO in enduring positive Alumni Relationships.
This is initially a part-time position of 0.60 FTE (3 days per week), with an opportunity to develop the role into a 1.0 FTE over time.
This is a position of trust and responsibility, and actively contributes to the enduring relationships between the College and members of its one of its most important stakeholder groups, the alumni of the College.
The values of the College have been formed out of its relationships with the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches since 1911, and in turn they shape the College experience and the connection with staff and students. The College proactively encourages a culture where everyone can contribute to a more equitable society through compassion, community service and respect for all. These values form the basis for the organisations culture as it relates to staff, students and the Emmanuel College community.
ABOUT YOU

- Proven record of accomplishment in Friend raising or Fundraising within an educational or non-profit setting
- Exceptional community/alumni/client engagement expertise
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, respect for cultural diversity and a genuine interest in and desire to support young adults along their varied educational pathways to student success;
- A naturally collaborative nature which will see you thrive in a team environment interacting positively, cooperatively and equitably with colleagues, sharing best practice;
- Experience working in advancement, engagement, and stakeholder relationship management and donor cultivation
- High level of maturity and personal integrity to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external constituencies, and to develop and sustain resilient and dynamic relationships with the College community
- Ability to relate to people on all stages of the academic ladder
- Appropriate qualifications
- National Police Check and working with children check (BlueCard ) or willingness to obtain
