- Develop and execute the multi-year Group strategic capital plan, working with both Group and Divisional teams. Conduct forecasts and planning in relation to the Group’s regulatory capital metrics, balance sheet and dividends. Identify and support the execution of initiatives to optimise capital consumption and allocation, including with traditional and alternative capital providers.
- Conduct financial modelling to assess the impact of strategic initiatives on key Group metrics, including debt and equity capital markets issuances, strategic reinsurance transactions, investment portfolio decisions and other non-standard corporate transactions.
- Support engagement with the Group’s credit rating agencies including the preparation of presentation materials and financial analysis of rating agency metrics. Manage preparation of key rating agency capital models, both actual and forecast, and develop key insights from a commercial and reporting perspective.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating submissions to the Group Board and executive management, including the CFO Board reports.
- Good understanding and knowledge of the APRA regulatory capital framework and / or equivalents in other jurisdictions, for general insurers. This could include experience within regulatory capital and capital management teams.
- Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet understanding for a general insurer.
- Strong financial modelling skills, coupled with an ability to clearly convey the rationale and impacts of strategic initiatives.
- A good understanding of global financial market and economic conditions, given the breadth of the geographic footprint you will be involved in.
- Demonstrated expertise within the insurance industry is advantageous.
