JERA Australia is a subsidiary of Japan's largest power generation company JERA Co, and a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power Company and Chubu Electric Power Company.
JERA Australia (JERAAU) is seeking a motivated FP&A Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our business planning activities and contribute valuable insights to the economic models that drive our strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and assist with the coordination of planning, budgeting and forecasting activities for JERAAU.
- Performing regular and ad-hoc business performance reporting to support corporate submissions and stakeholder engagements.
- Analyse performance against asset management plans and provide insights on key performance indicators.
- Support impairment testing and indicator review activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive standardisation and improvement in business planning and reporting processes.
- Assist with the preparation of material (primarily in PowerPoint) to support decision making and provide insights to Board and management reports as required.
- Perform quality control and assurance on economic models to ensure accuracy and alignment with interdepartmental models.
- Be a valued JERAAU team member that helps to build/maintain strong communication within the wider organisation.
- Be committed to developing a learning organisation and be curious, with an enthusiasm to learn and further develop commercial and analytical skills.
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or related business discipline.
- CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a solid understanding of economics and experience building, maintaining, and running Excel driven economic models.
- 5+ years’ experience in an Analyst or Accounting role in energy or resources sector.
- Experience with LNG value change agreements, integrated LNG projects, PPAs or other common agreements in the new energy sector (advantageous).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and writing Macros in Visual Basics (SAP and Power BI capability advantageous).
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, analytics and delivering to corporate reporting schedules.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and exposure to international business environments/culture (advantageous).
- Self-motivated and proactive with an ability to work effectively autonomously.
