Alliance airlines is Australia's largest charter airline providing charter services, wet and dry leasing to the mining, construction, government, entertainment and sporting industries.  We are currently operating 72 aircraft with another 30 purchased to be operational by 2026. About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analyst / Programmer, who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, who is driven to deliver high quality solutions, applications, integrations and reporting in a time efficient manner using a security by design mindset.  You   have a continuous improvement mindset, are a flexible and solution-based thinker that has a great ‘can-do’ attitude. Ideally you have experience in modernising development frameworks and principles or establishing new ways of working. 

As an Analyst / Programmer, you will join a small IT team, located at our HQ at Brisbane Airport Hangars and will engage directly with the business to gather requirements, create solutions and provide ongoing support and maintenance, across a number of business critical, internal ICT systems and integrations. We have exciting plans to transition our existing suite of applications to the latest, new technology stacks utilising .NET 8 and Vue3. This is a fantastic opportunity to get in at the start of this journey and to help shape the future of our applications.

 Candidates, please note, this is a 100% on-site position (5 days a week). 

Drug and Alcohol testing and police check clearance may be part of the recruitment process.

 About You

  • Seasoned full stack developer with at least 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, who is customer centric and solutions focussed.
  • Experienced in the creation, support and maintenance of critical business applications and integrations within a 24/7 environment.
  • Excellent generalist development skills with the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems.
  • Build and maintains solutions with a security by design mindset.
  • Comfortable working directly with the business to provide support, understand requirements and devise appropriate solutions.
  • Experienced working in an Agile team, collaborating on solution designs and seeking continual improvement.
  • Multitask between day-to-day requests and project development works within agreed time frames.
  • Identify and contribute to lifecycle planning of environment and continuous improvement initiatives relating to our applications stack.

Skills and Experience

Mandatory

  • .NET software development - C# (.Net Framework 4.5 to Core 8), ASP.NET Web API, MVC, Entity Framework, WinForms.
  • Front-end – strong experience in a modern framework such as Vue3, with knowledge of AngularJS and React.
  • HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, AngularJS, VBA.
  • SQL Server – on-premises and Azure SQL, T-SQL, SSRS (reporting services).
  • Messaging protocols (e.g., SOAP, REST).
  • Strong Git version control experience.
  • Experience with federated identity services (SAML, OAuth2).
  • Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation (Azure DevOps preferred).
  • Solid experience within modern IT landscapes, SAAS, networks and cloud.
  • Experienced working in or establishing agile project methodologies.
  • Experience with integrating with AD (inc. Azure AD).
  • Experience in data storage and cloud computing.
  • Experience in modernising development frameworks and principles.
  • Understanding of Clean architecture concepts.
  • Be reliable, motivated and able to work within an environment with changing priorities.
  • 5+ years in-house development experience.
  • ‘Can-do’ attitude that enjoys a mix of project work and BAU support, with a philosophy of fixing things right the first time.

Desirable

  • Experience with Integration technologies (e.g. Boomi).
  • Solid experience with Microsoft 365 platform and technologies (e.g. PowerBI).
  • PowerShell scripting, PowerAutomate and automation/orchestration experience.
  • Aviation systems relating to operational flight, passenger, and crew management.
  • Aviation integrations and messaging standards (e.g., AIDX, SSM & ASM)
