Mount Isa City Council provides employment for approximately 200 employees in a variety of full time, part time, contractual and casual positions.

These positions cover the full scope of Council operations from administration, financial, professional and technical roles to operational positions within the various sections.

About the role

This position is responsible for the day to day tasks of the Mount Isa City Council Pound including the care, management and release of impounded animals.

About You

 You will have:

• Experience in a similar position. 
• Experience in effective handling of animals. 
• Experience in the care and assessing the welfare of animals. 
• Demonstrated ability to provide high level of customer service and interpersonal communication skills (including conflict resolution), including demonstrated effective written communication skills. 
• Construction Industry White Card essential. 
• Current Queensland “C” class Driver’s Licence is essential. 
• Certificate to Microchip Implantation for Dogs and Cats (desirable).
• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (desirable). 
• Certificate in Animal Technology (desirable). 
• Must be willing to obtain an Authorised Persons card within probationary period.
