Mount Isa City Council provides employment for approximately 200 employees in a variety of full time, part time, contractual and casual positions.
These positions cover the full scope of Council operations from administration, financial, professional and technical roles to operational positions within the various sections.
About the role
This position supports the Animal Management Officer for the day to day tasks of the Mount Isa City Council Pound including the care, management and release of impounded animals.

About You
You will have:
- Relevant experience in a similar position
- Experience in effective handling of animals.
- Experience in the care and assessing the welfare of animals in your charge.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level of customer service and interpersonal communication skills (including conflict resolution), including demonstrated effective written communication skills.
- Construction Industry White Card essential.
- Current “C” Class Drivers Licence essential.
- Completion of the Certificate in Animal Technology is desirable or studying towards the completion of relevant certification.
