AO4 Project Officer required for a Government Department, based in South Johnstone, QLD

An exciting opportunity to join a Government Organisation who work to mitigate the risks and impacts of animal, plant pests, diseases and weeds to the economy, the environment, social amenities and human health.
They are currently seeking an AO4 Project Officer to engage in a full-time temporary contract. The experienced candidate will form part of a dedicated team until June 2024 with the possibility of extending, based in South Johnstone, QLD.
Your new role
As the AO4 Project Officer, you will work within plant Biosecurity and product integrity, providing project support to the policy team. You will undertake the following key tasks and responsibilities:
Provide confidential administrative and project support to policy, including data management of private and confidential information and doing quality assurance checks on data put into internal databases.
Confidently present work in a clear, concise and respectful manner and demonstrate strong influencing capability.
Follow approved procedures to facilitate delegations and appointments, including arranging identification for authorised officers.
Effectively plan, prioritise work, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and work autonomously using a high level of initiative and self-motivation to assist in the effective management of incoming requests and resolve issues.
Support the development, distribution and management (including filing and retrieval) of documentation and communication materials, including the use of systems such as eDocs, MECS and Sharepoint.
Work flexibly across the business group and provide assistance with other duties as directed and required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have experience maintaining document quality and control checks and systems. Experience with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) would be highly desirable.
