Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an AO5 Communications Advisor. This position is located in their busy Sunshine Coast (Buderim) office for an initial contract starting on 15/07/2024 until 30/07/2027.
About the Position
The Communications Advisor role involves providing high-quality communications services for regional civil and infrastructure projects within the North Coast Region. Responsibilities include community engagement, stakeholder management, media relations, and internal communications.
Duties
- Establish a comprehensive stakeholder management plan.
- Create a dedicated community engagement team.
- Regularly engage with local leaders and beneficiary communities.
- Ensure timely disclosure of all relevant documents.
- Use technology for targeted communication.
- Write media statements, media responses, and speeches.
- Highlight project benefits to the public.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Facilitate cooperation, coordination, and communication.
- Adhere to governance frameworks, policies, and regulations.
- Monitor compliance with standards and procedures.
- Valid Class ‘C’ Driver’s License.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia framework.
- Experience in communication or community engagement, especially related to infrastructure of civil engineering projects.
- Degree in communications, PR, journalism, or marketing (Desirable)
- IAP2 accreditation (or willingness to obtain).
- Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional qualification (Desirable)
