Lime Recruitment is currently working with a government department to recruit a Communications Advisor contract to 30/07/2027 based at Buderim and working from home.
In the role of Communications Advisor, you will actively participate as a member of the Stakeholder Management Unit to ensure effective relationship outcomes for regional projects. You will be required to advise on, develop, implement and monitor a range of high quality and timely communications services relating to community engagement, stakeholder relationship management, reputational and issues management, media relations, executive correspondence and internal communications for projects in the design and construction phases on the program for North Coast Region.
In this role you will:
- Provide high level communication advice and support to regional staff on communication strategies for key stakeholder and community engagement on road infrastructure projects in the design and construction phases using appropriate communication tools and processes to develop, implement and monitor activities.
- Research and gather information and write articles for various project materials, including newsletters, construction notifications, webpage content, online engagement information, reporting and so on.
- Coordinate and write media statements, responses to media enquiries, speech notes and other communications materials for the Minister’s office and senior management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate cooperation, coordination and enhanced communication channels.
- Ensure appropriate governance frameworks are maintained and adhered to in order to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards and procedures.
- Perform other adhoc communication support as required.
You will have:
- A current Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence
- While qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing would be highly desirable. Accreditation from the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) in Engagement, or the willingness to obtain one.
- Understanding of Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia framework and how it applies to infrastructure projects. Preferably Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional qualification (however, this is not mandatory).
- Experience in a communication or community engagement role in an environment dealing with major infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport or civil engineering sector, will be highly regarded.
