AO6 Senior Finance Officer - Asset Accounting

The Organisation:
Join a prominent state government department committed to delivering innovative solutions in finance and travel technology. As a Senior Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the department.
  
Role Overview:

• Project Management: Oversee the preparation of the department’s annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Asset Accounting: Manage the Asset Accounting function, including valuation, maintenance of the asset register, and coordination of stocktakes.
• Financial Reporting: Contribute to the development of financial statements in accordance with statutory requirements and Treasury guidelines.
• Policy and Systems: Assist in developing and maintaining financial reporting policies, procedures, and systems.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Asset Accounting: Contribute to the division’s complex annual valuation process, coordinate asset stocktakes and maintain the asset register, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of asset transactions.
• Financial Statements Development: Assist in preparing detailed workpapers, handle end-of-month and end-of-year financial reporting processes, provide Tridata actual reporting and support the estimates process.
• Policy and Compliance: Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reporting policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience working in accordance with accounting standards.
• Experience in transactional processing (bulk accounts, purchase orders, tax corrections, journals, and accruals).
