About:
This role is with our great State government client, their Product Agency team is looking to recruit for a Senior Project Officer. This position will be working in the Product Agency team on Commercial product development projects.
Your Opportunity:
As the Senior Project Officer, you will:
- Coordinate the implementation of projects to ensure consistency with organisational strategy, commitment and goals is achieved.
- Provide guidance and support in the implementation, development and evaluation of strategic and short-term projects to achieve business performance improvement initiatives for this state government client.
- Execute high-level project management skills, contributing to end-to-end delivery of this department’s Commercial projects, demonstrating well-developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Contribute to the successful implementation and delivery of significant, complex, and varied projects, working in a collaborative manner with industry, community, and government stakeholders.
- Liaise and build strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including members of the Commercial Business Development team, Product Leads, to drive the successful delivery of this department’s Commercial projects.
- Provide advice and report on the progress of relevant aspects of project milestones to senior/supervising staff as required to ensure that project activities are consistent with organisational and contractual requirements and that priorities and time lines are met.
- Undertake project risk and issues identification, assessment, and mitigation activities by ensuring risks and issues are documented and reviewed, acting as an escalation point, where required, and monitoring the progress of actions to ensure follow-up occurs in a timely manner.
- Utilise cloud-based systems to track and monitor the progress of this department Commercial projects via the designated project management system/s in consultation with the Manager Commercial Product and Manager, Program Management Office.
- Lead project meetings for the Product Agency in various governance committees including the development, preparation, and coordination of meeting agendas, briefing papers, reports and minutes and including tracking, monitoring and closure of action items.
- Work independently when required to achieve agreed project outcomes and take ownership of daily project administration duties.
- Maintain a high level of quality in the performance of all duties, ensuring adherence to the required quality systems documentation and continually seeking improvements in the way in which the programs are delivered to industry and participants.
- Demonstrated planning, project management, analytical and conceptual skills in order to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure project outcomes are achieved.
- Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, positive attitude, and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate team activities to achieve successful outcomes within strict deadlines.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral) including demonstrated ability to drive engagement, consultation and negotiation with diverse stakeholder groups both internal and external.
- High level of interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to consult and negotiate on significant issues with various internal and external stakeholders.
- You may be required to travel and work across the region.
- Travel and overnight absences from base may be required of this position.
- It would be highly desirable for the incumbent to possess a current driver’s licence.
- A criminal history check will be initiated on the successful applicant.
- A non-smoking policy applies across this departments Queensland buildings, offices and motor vehicles.
- If the successful candidate has been engaged as a lobbyist, a statement of their employment is required.
- You will be required to complete a period of probation of three (3) or six (6) months.
- You will be required to complete a range of training activities within the onboarding and induction period, including systems training.
