Principal Objective:
- This role is responsible for leading the application technical service as well as new product developments for all areas within the business. This role is also responsible for all reporting from an application point into the global network.
- Lead and direct all new product developments and new raw material evaluations to ensure OTIF completion.
- People leadership & development: Ensure staff is kept engaged, challenged motivated, and growing from a professional and personal point of view.
- Lead activities from all Application staff to actively seek new projects with customers or suggest new internal product developments; actively observing new trends in the market as well as competitor activities.
- Lead weekly Application meetings also providing clear information to the Sales Manager ASEAN/Oceania on the status of key projects, and competitor activities.
- Being the technical expert and go-to person for selected direct customers as well as the support/coach for all other Application staff.
- Ensure all staff is trained to a level to be recognised by customers as experts in their field.
- Ensure all documentation is in place, complete, up-to-date, and written in a professional manner, and ultimately responsible for the safe and efficient running of the Application center.
- Completed study in a field related to food processing/food science or/and biochemical sciences, with numerous years of experience in working with food ingredients or/and flavours; experience in meat processing is of advantage but not essential.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage a team or a department including performance management.
- Proven ability to combine technical developments and options with commercial realities being able to display well-advanced negotiation skills.
- Experience/knowledge in producing meat products on a medium and large scale.
- Strong technical and application knowledge of food ingredients in food processing.
- Strong documentation, organisation, and time management skills (prioritisation, multitasking, delegation).
- Being a strong leader of a team also ensures the growth of team members as well as cultivating a culture of innovation, efficiency, and team spirit.
- An experienced traveller and willing to travel within the Asia/Pacific Region, regularly.
- Being well presented at all times.
