About the Role
The Application Support Technical Specialist’s role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing business-critical applications and systems essential for daily operations at TMBL.
The position involves providing exemplary service in handling technical inquiries, proactively managing all application support issues, and maintaining the stability of the Bank's technical operations.
The incumbent of the role completes a variety of functions to ensure that all services are delivered efficiently and run smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prioritises and handles requests and incidents to maintain stability of the Bank's software applications
Monitors, triages and responds appropriately to open issues submitted through the ticketing system, in a timely and efficient manner
Troubleshoots and escalates alerts that cannot be resolved to appropriate teams or suppliers to further resolution in a timely and professional manner
Liaises with vendors to develop, implement and support robust software solutions for the organisation
Provides relevant and timely communication to users on the status of requests and incidents
Identifies opportunities for process improvement and contributes to IT initiatives
Documents, uplifts and maintains documentation around the technical processes for application support and delivery
Develops scripts with team to automate repeatable manual tasks and procedures
Collaborates with other staff on the specifics of projects, new technologies, infrastructure requirements, implementation programs and deployment deadlines
Gathers feedback from internal and external staff on user requirements and translating requirements into technical specifications
Performs out of hour’s duties to support planned releases/fixes/patches/updates, as required
Participates in emergency support and disaster recovery activities to ensure internal systems and online customer-facing channels are continuously available, as required
Ensures the availability, performance, and throughput of supported applications, scripts, and services
Installs, configures, monitors, and administers application servers
Builds and maintains professional & collaborative relationships with internal and external staff
Adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner and meeting agreed deadlines
Maintains up-to-date job knowledge by researching new developments in IT and around ITSM activities; participating in educational opportunities; building & maintaining professional networks; participating in professional organisations
About You

Professional IT Industry Experience - 4+ Years
Experience in Financial Services Industry - Highly regarded
Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline - Highly regarded
ITIL certification - Highly Regarded

Jira / Confluence / BitBucket Administration - Highly regarded
SharePoint Administration/Development - Highly regarded
System Centre Service Manager Administration - Highly regarded
Communication, presentation and inter-personal skills - Excellent Skill
Microsoft Office Suite - Intermediate Skill
Banking Core Systems support- Basic Skill
Dell Boomi integration experience - Basic Skill
Windows Server Administration – Basic Skill
Linux/Unix Administration - Basic Skill
