Application Technician- Microbiology

Our client is a global leader in complementary medicine and food products, based in Macquarie Park. They are currently seeking a Microbiologist to support in the quality and stability testing of probiotics and other ingredients.Job Description:

• Stability testing using standard method for enumeration of probiotics and water activity/moisture content testing.
• Prepare equipment and materials needed for all testing.
• Support the establishment of new methods for analysis of other actives and ingredients in the lab.
• Sensory evaluation of products.
• Complete written reports with results of testing.
• Working with application scientists to plan testing and reporting of results.
• Following company policy, operation & management rules to conduct day to day work.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum BSc. in Microbiology, Food Science or Food Engineering.
• Experience in general methods used in cultivation of microorganisms, including sterile techniques and media preparation.
• Experience in food microbiology, and in particularly the use for lactic acid bacteria in food.
• Experience in probiotics and use of probiotics in DS formulations would be highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
