Our Seniors Living services are connected and offer a continuum of care to people living across our seven large, active, vibrant, retirement living estates with individualized care and services provided through our in-home care and service provider, RAAFA Connect or stay in one of our five warm and welcoming residential aged care homes.
We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef's to be part of our fantastic Food & Beverage teams at our RAAFA Club locations north of the river in Merriwa, south of the river in Meadow Springs and centrally in Bull Creek. The RAAFA Club's are the heartbeat of our estate's and are a vibrant facility that boasts contemporary function rooms, meeting spaces and a casual, friendly, dining experience for members and their guests.
As a 1st or 2nd year Apprentice Chef, you will have an amazing opportunity to join our fantastic hospitality team, learning skills and techniques that will see you excel in commercial kitchens, function based roles and aged care. Learn from some exceptional, experienced chefs while working full time, with no late nights and superb work/life balance!

The role and you:
- Work and learn in a fully equipped commercial kitchen cooking for a café, restaurant and aged care facilities;
- Assist in food preparation, including portioning ingredients and minimising allergen contamination;
- Learn different cooking techniques and explore different flavour profile with exposure to modified diets and meals, broadening your horizons;
- Follow instructions from experienced chefs and assist in al la carte and function services;
- Lead from the front in terms of a safe and quality meal service;
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement;
- Working knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) guidelines and regulations;
- Passion, enthusiasm and ability to deliver outcomes in a commercial kitchen environment.
What you need to do:
Working towards or willing to complete a Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent Traineeship with RAAFA and our partner RTO;
Have a valid "C" Class Drivers Licence;
Update your resume;
Be eligible to work in Australia;
Satisfactory National Police Certificate (on commencement of employment to be within six months from date of issue) or willing to obtain one;
Be up to date with your COVID 19 and flu vaccinations;
