Nestled in the heart of East Fremantle, Dukes of George embodies the perfect fusion of upscale dining and live music. The restaurant hosts an array of events that includes talented local musicians performing in various genres, from soulful jazz to blues.
They are currently looking for an Apprentice Chef to join their vibrant team!
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Apprentice, you will complete a 3-year Apprenticeship opportunity with a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
Prior completion of a pre-apprenticeship course or previous experience is highly desirable. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll receive training from their seasoned Head Chef, who brings expertise from their work experience in Michelin Star restaurants across UK, France, and other parts of Europe.
Day to day duties (not limited to):
- Assist the kitchen team in preparing herbs, vegetable and protein, cooking dishes with precision and creativity.
- Learn and execute recipes while adhering to quality and safety standards.
- Handle and maintain kitchen equipment and tools.
- Cleaning and dishwashing fryers and plating during service.
- Weighing and recording monthly for stocktake.
- Embrace a positive attitude and eagerness to learn from experienced chefs.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will showcase the following:
- Must be able to take and follow instructions.
- Ability to maintain stress in faced past and pressured environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Punctual
- Must be available to work after hours - from Wednesday to Sunday.
