With humble beginnings hosting cruises on the Great Barrier Reef, the company has grown into a borderless fleet of three ships carrying between 72 and 120 guests. For four decades, Coral Expeditions has operated with a single purpose – to take small groups of likeminded explorers to remote places with expert guidance and warm Australian hospitality. In 2023, we have returned to international sailings including New Zealand, Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Islands of Indonesia.
Responsibilities include
- Responsible for the preparation of food according to the standards and quality levels set by the Company at all times
- Ensuring that quality and presentation are served on schedule
- Ensuring proper equipment operation/maintenance and proper safety and sanitation in kitchen.
- Take direction of Chef's on board
What you will bring to us
- Apprentice Chef, First, Second or Third year Apprentice will be accepted.
- Prior Marine industry experience will be highly regarded.
- Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP and Food Safety Supervisor
- Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
- A flexible and motivated team player and a high degree of social competence
- Management and organisational skills
- Takes pride in appearance
- Ability to work under pressure
- This is a salary position Working equal time on/off
Qualifications Required
- First Aid & CPR.
Qualifications willing to obtain with us
- AMSA endorsed Certificate of Safety Training (CoST).
- Crowd Control & Crisis Management.
- AMSA Medical.
- MSIC Card
- Australian Seafarers book or other country equivalent discharge book.
- Passport.
